Edventures Discover Drones Sets
Build and program a real drone to explore the science and uses behind unmanned aerial vehicles!
Combine robotics, engineering, physics, and electronics into one inclusive, real-world project! Flying drones engages minds and get students excited about technology, engineering, and the increasing real-world applications for these flying vehicles. These topics come to life as students problem solve and collaborate to assemble and configure the drone using the INAV interactive application. The included online Droneology course is compatible with all devices and teaches safety, flight basics, and laws and regulations. A flight simulator introduces students to steering controls and they can use FPV goggles for a first-hand view as if they are in a cockpit. Once training is done, the real fun happens! Students fly their drones outdoors using a radio controller. The drones utilize a GPS module and have altitude hold, position hold, and return-to-home features. A teacher can tether into the controller to take command if needed. Student LABCards feature a mix of activities and promote student independence.
RubiQ flight configurator is available as a Windows app and requires a USB port. FPV Freerider flight simulator software is compatible with Windows, masOS, and Linux operating systems; requires a USB port. Available in a Group Set for up to 10 students or a Class Set for up to 25 students. Recommended for Middle School and up.
