In this kit, students build a working 13th century trebuchet, considered to be the most powerful of siege engines at the time! As a replica of Leonardo da Vinci’s historical design, students will notice accurate features such as pegged joints, a leatherette pouch for projectiles, and a wooden box for the weights. Not only do students become engineers, they participate in a hands-on physics lesson, too. Have them experiment with experiment with different projectiles and heavier or lighter counterweights to see how they affect range and power! Kit includes all parts, soft modeling clay, and step-by-step building instructions. Recommended for Elementary and up.
